| Okay, so its been a while. Yeah, I know everyone is dying to know about what goes on inside my head, but reallly, its nothing special. Random musings about life with some math and science thrown in. Have a calculus 4 final in the morn, but yet i'm not tired. I'm pretty confident about it so I either know it, or i'm just really dumb and don't know it yet. I'm gonna just go with i'm a genius and hope for the best out of it. Differential Equations on tuesday, now thats going to be an interesting test. The final counts for 75% of our final grade, so basically whatever you make, is your grade. Crazy asian math teachers. Dr. Xu is crazy chalk breakin guy though, so its to be expected.
Taco Bell is not your friend, nor a 4th meal.
After the DE final its off to the ATL to go ride some roller coasters, ruin my vocal chords, and sweat off a few pounds walking the expanse of six flags. I need to get away from starkville before my brain explodes
I do hope that there aren't any accidents at this six flags
An interesting tidbit: "How I want (or: need) a drink, alcoholic in nature (or: of course), after the heavy lectures involving quantum mechanics!" is the first 15 numbers of Pi. yeah that 3.1415926535 number. Well, dunno if its a real number yet or not.
Band camp is next week. Being a squad leader should prove interesting. Poor kids, won't even know what hit them.

| While i'm letting my brain re-solidify after several hours of cal4 work I thought i'd write up an analysis of how I see my instructors at the moment. I won't use names, but rather their characteristics, so I can protect their identity ( and my rear just in case some are blog savvy).
Mr. 8am excitement: He is a pretty decent guy. Seems like he has made a few mistakes in life here and there, but has so far started to turn onto the right road. Makes jokes that I would normally laught at, but my brain is still on the "Shower-dress-eat-school" auto-pilot program that early in the morning. He knows his stuff and trys to convey what we need to know and doesn't dwell too long on the things we don't. I don't know how his tests are yet, but if they are like his homework problems, they shouldn't be too much of a problem. Mr. 8am Excitements grade at the beginning of the semester: A
Ms. "Isn't what I do SO interesting?": At first I didn't think she was going to be that bad. Sadly, each class becomes worse than the class before. The only thing that makes it somewhat enjoyable are the people that I sit around are friendly and aren't the type of people to "clam up" in a class and just sit there to be in the classroom. Also, she only has lectures over power point slides. While I admire her use in technology to try and improve her teaching, she just ONLY uses technology. You can't just drone on and on and on as your students lull themselves to sleep infront of the electric glow of the projector. At least try to make it interesting and come at the subject that you Know is boring and make it fun or at least interesting. I don't pay thousands of dollars a semester to read a book and look at a powerpoint. I don't think I am getting my money's worth here. Lastly, she is extremely scripted. I understand she is from the northeast, and maybe she doesn't intend this, but she comes off extremely aristocratic and scripted. Nothing pisses people off more than being talked down to. I'd think most students would be upset by this attitude, but they are too sleepy to react by that point in class. Ms. "Isn't what I do So interesting?"'s grade: C+
Ms "I can read you like a book." I still haven't gotten a good vibe just yet. Her class is interesting, and she seems to keep alluding to the difficulty of her tests. She thinks that all of the engineers don't take her class seriously, and I can understand why. It is an Intro class, and a very simple one at that. If you can read you can make an A, the problem is, most people don't like to read. I don't mind reading, can when you compare reading to doing endless math problems, i'll always pick reading. She does like to play favorites, and I am not one of them. I really don't want to BE one either. They are the ones that she always calls on to come up with answers, and most of the time it isn't in the context of what we are supposed to be reading. Even so, I still enjoy her class because it gives my brain time to think and not beat my head against the desk solving problems. Ms. "I can read you like a book."'s grade: B+
Ms. "Here is a proof, and another proof, and a definition, and a proof" Man ohhh man, this class is a waste of time. I could do a better job of teaching myself, and thats what I usually do during class. She looves going over proofs and definitions, but yet I bought a 150 dollar book for that. I show up to class so that I can do examples, ask questions, and figure how to get over the humps that occur in the course, not repeat what the book says. I have learned to tune out her endless ramblings of definitions and zone in on her examples. Most people agree that its the best way to get through the class without going crazy is to zone in on the examples rather than the jargon. We'll see how her tests are before I get too harsh Ms. "Here is a proof, and another proof, and a definition, and a proof"'s Grade: B-
